Frequently Asked Questions
Do you travel for weddings? Are there travel fees?
Yes! I’m happy to travel for weddings within Southern Ontario. Travel fees apply if your wedding is 50km or more from my location in Burlington or requires over an hour of travel each way. If your wedding has an early start (before 8 AM) or runs past midnight, overnight accommodations may be required.
If you’re planning a destination wedding or an elopement outside of Ontario, I’d love to hear more! Get in touch, and we can chat about the details and travel options.
Do you work with a second shooter?
Yes! Some of my packages include a second photographer, while others are solo coverage. I regularly work with a small group of talented second shooters, and while you won’t select the individual, I only bring someone I trust completely. If they’re photographing alongside me, they’ll be capturing additional angles and moments; if something were to happen to me, they’re also someone I would trust to step in as lead photographer.
What if it rains on our wedding day?
Weather is unpredictable, but it doesn’t have to ruin your photos! I’m always prepared with backup plans, whether that means adjusting locations, using covered areas, or getting creative with umbrellas and indoor spaces. If you’re open to embracing the weather, some of the most unique and romantic images come from unexpected conditions! We’ll discuss your venue and any rain plans in advance so that no matter what happens, you’ll still get beautiful photos.
Can we provide a shot list or must-have photos?
I’m always happy to hear about any poses, traditions, or unique moments you want captured! You don’t need to worry about the big must-have shots (like your first kiss, walking down the aisle, and key reception moments—I’ll be capturing those naturally).
However, if there are cultural traditions, heirloom items, or personal details that are important to you, let me know in advance so I can make sure to prioritize them. I’m also happy to try out specific poses you like, but I maintain my own shooting and editing style—I don’t replicate another photographer’s look. If you have a mood board or inspiration photos, feel free to share!
Additionally, if there are any family dynamics or sensitivities you’d like me to be aware of (such as blended families, specific groupings for portraits, or comfort levels with PDA), just let me know. I want to ensure everyone feels comfortable and respected in their photos.
Do you edit all the photos?
Yes! Every single photo you receive has been individually edited to ensure it meets my professional standards. This includes adjustments to lighting, colour balance, contrast, and tone, ensuring your gallery has a cohesive, polished look.
I personally edit each image—this means I enhance the natural beauty of the scene while maintaining true-to-life colours and authentic skin tones. While I do remove small distractions (like a stray hair, a temporary blemish, or an unexpected photobomber in the background), I keep things natural—your photos will still feel like you.
If you have specific retouching requests, let’s chat! Some more detailed edits (like body modifications or heavy object removal) may require additional time or incur a retouching fee, depending on the request.
Do we get the RAW (unedited) images?
No, I do not provide RAW (unedited) images. The final images you receive are carefully selected and professionally edited to reflect my signature style. Editing is a huge part of the creative process, ensuring that the colours, lighting, and overall feel of your images are polished and cohesive.
Think of it like a finished painting—you’re receiving the completed artwork, not the rough sketches! Your final gallery will include fully edited, high-resolution images that are ready for printing, sharing, and enjoying for years to come.
Can I order prints or albums through you?
Yes! Your final images will be delivered via an online gallery, where you’ll have the option to purchase professional-quality prints directly. While I don’t offer custom album design at this time, you’re welcome to use the high-resolution images to create your own prints and albums.
What’s your policy on rescheduling or cancellations?
If you need to cancel: The retainer and any payments made are non-refundable as they secure your date.
If you need to reschedule: I’ll do my best to accommodate your new date, but rescheduling is subject to availability and may require a new contract.
If I need to cancel (due to emergency or illness): My second shooter (if applicable) will step in as the lead photographer whenever possible, and I will do my best to find a replacement second shooter if needed. If I am unable to find a suitable replacement, you will receive a full refund of all fees paid.
Do I get to choose which images you edit?
I personally go through every photo taken and select the best images—the ones that truly capture the emotions, energy, and storytelling of your wedding day. This ensures that you receive a cohesive, beautifully curated gallery without duplicates, test shots, or moments that just didn’t turn out.
That said, if there are a handful of specific images that you’d like in both colour and black & white, I’m happy to try and accommodate! However, I don’t re-edit large batches of images, as every editing decision is made with artistic intention—some photos naturally work better in black & white, while others shine in colour. Sometimes, an image looks incredible in black & white because of lighting challenges or unexpected colour casts that wouldn’t translate as well in full colour.
If you have a favourite moment you'd like in both versions, just let me know!
Do you offer videography?
Nope! Photography is my focus, but I work alongside some incredibly talented videographers who specialize in capturing your wedding on film. If you're looking for a recommendation, just ask! I frequently collaborate with videographers who share a similar approach and style, and sometimes I even offer a discount when you book one of my preferred vendors.
Can we see a full wedding gallery?
Absolutely! After our consultation, I’ll send over a handful of full wedding galleries so you can see exactly what a client receives. These aren’t highlight reels or cherry-picked images—they’re the real, delivered galleries that couples get, exactly as they see them.
Can family and friends take photos too?
Of course! I’m not here to police phones or cameras, and I’d never stop anyone from snapping a few memories. That said, I do recommend having your officiant make an announcement before the ceremony encouraging guests to stay present and put their phones away—this ensures that your professional photos are clean, unobstructed, and truly capture the moment.
Some couples like to include a specific moment during the ceremony where the officiant invites guests to take photos—that way, everyone gets their shot without distracting from the rest of the ceremony.
One request: If a guest brings professional camera equipment, I just ask that they’re respectful of my space and don’t interfere with key moments. My priority is making sure you get the best images possible!
